Senior Subject Choices for 2012
In theThe 2012 curriculum structure aims to provide students with many opportunities to develop their education. Seniors may select from a wide range of subjects within the national curriculum requirements. Features particular to Tokomairiro are the ability to do non-conventional (Polytechnic equivalent) units and the opportunity for students to begin vocational training in our Gateway programmes.
C Check whether your subject selection provides enough flexibility to change to other courses should circumstances or your ideas change.
For all the above, the Careers Advisor, Ms Baird, and the staff at Tokomairiro are willing to provide guidance.
You also need to be aware of the subject entry prerequisites. These are guidelines only. Each case will be considered on its merits and decided by the Head of Department. Contributing factors, in addition to examination marks, will be work habits and the ongoing evaluations that teachers have made. An appeal for reconsideration may be made to the Principal, where a student is declined entry to a subject.
Please Note: some courses, such as those in the technology area, have a course cost related to their take home component.
