Student Log Book
The Tokomairiro High School log book is issued to all students. The purpose of the log book is to encourage good work habits and self-discipline, and to serve as a means of communication between home and school. It also contains the students time table, advice on study techniques, mentoring program and self reflection chart and other useful information.The success of the log book depends on co-operation between students, teachers and parents.
STUDENTS
- The log book is a record of work set and your conduct at school.
- You are required to take it with you to ALL lessons and form time.
- It is your responsibility to keep a neat and accurate record of work set, homework assignments, tests, etc.
- Use the log book to organise your homework and study commitments in an efficient way.
- The log book must be signed at the end of each week by your parent or guardian and by your form teacher by the following Wednesday at the latest.
PARENTS
- The log book is used to encourage good work habits and self-discipline. It contains a section on our mentoring program, with a self reflection chart for the students to complete. Parents are encouraged to assist students in reaching their goals.
- An important additional function is to serve as a means of communication between home and school.
- As parents you are asked to assist us by reading the log book each week and signing it in the place provided. Please do not sign it until the week is completed.
- Any messages between parents and teachers may be written in the section provided alongside each page. Your child should draw such messages to the attention of the teacher concerned.
TEACHERS
- Each period students will record homework, reminders about tests and assignments in their log book.
- It will be used to make comments about gook work, good results, helpfulness and co-operation, etc. If necessary notes on any poor behaviour or work habits will be included.
- Important notices to parents will be recorded in the log book.
