Tokomairiro High School Library

The Tokomairiro High school library is an integral part of Tokomairiro High School. It is a flexible space that accommodates itself to many different styles of learning,
There has been a library in High School since 1966 and the Library is named the Allen Carter library after Tokomairiro High School’s first principal.

The Library is open from 8.40 – 3.10pm every day for class use and is open for recreational reading at interval and lunchtime.

The Library has a stock of approximately 10,000 items and provides 18 computers for student use.

A Homework centre is run in the library from 3.10 - 4.10pm, Monday to Thursday

The Library is staffed with a full time librarian (Mr Greig Daniels) and seeks to provide up to date reading and research material for all of Tokomariro’s students. Mr Daniels is assisted by a keen team of student librarians from all year levels of the school.

In the past we have hosted visits from authors and illustrators so student can have wide access to a wide range of people, there is an annual Reading Week Promotion.

We welcome comment and can provide advice on guiding your child’s reading. Greig Daniels can be contacted at greig@tokohigh.school.nz
Tokomairiro High School library has a blog which you can access here http://tokolibrary.blogspot.co.nz/
We hope to have the library catalogue available for use outside the school in the near future.
